Glasgow Café Bridge

Thursday 14th November 2024

We are pleased to announce Glasgow's inaugural Café Bridge Day, organised by Margaret MacCallum, Alan Livingstone, Alyson Raworth and Diane Murdoch with the help of Victor Lesk in aid of musicALL Scotland. The sun always shines on Café Bridge in November, and it is impossible not to have a good time, especially in the company of Scotland's friendliest bridge players.

Highlights of the day:

  • Registration in The Glasgow Bridge Centre with welcome coffee/tea and biscuits
  • 24 hands of bridge played in six to eight venues (cafes/restaurants/hotels) with short walks in between
  • Lunch at your mid-day venue
  • After last round return to the The Glasgow Bridge Centre for a friendly glass of Prosecco
  • Raffle in aid of musicALL Scotland, drawn while results are being finalized

Glasgow Café Bridge is now provisionally full. However, the organisers are looking for space to expand the event.

Registration will take place in The Glasgow Bridge Centre, 1055 Pollokshaws Road G41 3YF from 10 am onwards on Thursday morning for a 11am start to play. Players will be issued with a map and a movement card. Play is scheduled to finish at 4:00pm. Cash prizes for first, second and third place are generously sponsored by GM Brown Property Consultants (gmbrown.co.uk)

Scores are entered by players on their phones using the BriAn app-based scoring system. This allows us to declare a winner very soon after the last board is played. If you have not come across BriAn before, you can find out more here.

Please contact us with any questions about the event. We look forward to welcoming you on 14th November.
